Refugio Specialty Clinic:

The Refugio Specialty Clinic was opened in 1999 to provide specialized medical care to the citizens of Refugio County. Several physicians from Victoria, Corpus Christi, and Beeville come to the clinic once or twice a month to offer care such as cardiology, opthalmolgy, OB/GYN, urology, psychiatric, and general surgery. Citizens are offered financial counseling at the Specialty Clinic with help from the hospital’s indigent care counselor and a hospital based Medicaid worker. With the help of these specialists, elective surgery and cataract surgeries are offered to many patients.

Refugio County has three rural health clinics. The Refugio Rural Health Clinic, Woodsboro Medical Clinic, and Austwell/Tivoli Medical Clinic are federally certified clinics; established to provide primary care to the medically undrserved communities in Refugio County. The clinics provide routine diagnostic services, including laboratory testing under the direction of a physician supervisor/director.
